Had a blast this year and can't wait untill next year. Didn't make any new friends though so that was really sad....but next year I wont be a shy newbie anymore so I hope to come away with some cool new Dragoncon friends.

Does anyone know who the vendors in the dealers room were that was selling the dvds of the old tv shows? I wanted to make a purchase but never was able to get back to them. I hope they have a website.
Thanks!

same here... i didn't get to meet anyone. Mainly because I woke up sick the day I planned on being there all day, which only seemed to get worse as the day went on. Long story short, didn't want to pass germs to others so only stayed for the parade. :*(

Be careful buying dvd's there! I bought some and they were pirated copies that were crap!

I've always thought it was pretty obvious those DVDs were pirated and most likely copies of old VCR recordings and I never even picked one up.

Yep. I was really tempted since they had a lot of stuff that just isn't legitimately on DVD at all, but when I saw the price tag on the one I wanted, I knew it wasn't worth it for the poor quality.

I haven't watched the one I bought there yet so I can't confirm or deny what [Unknown site tag] says but the place was called T.C. DVDs. I have a phone number he gave us but that was the only contact info.

I didn't make any new friends at the con either, because I was shy and kinda clung to the people I came with. But oddly, I've made lots of con friends since I got home! I recommend getting on forums or LJ comms for whatever your favorite fandoms/events/etc. at the con are, because if it's a regional or large group you'll most certainly run into other congoers there. Then you'll have people to meet up with next year, which is way easier than just trying to jump into stuff by yourself (especially if you're an introvert, like I am).

I second this. I'm introverted by nature and before I went this year (my first time) I got in touch with the D*C Doctor Who parade group (who also do a group dinner every year as well). They were the NICEST, most welcoming bunch of people and I made several friends there who I can't wait to see next year. :)
