19th century cure: a call for insane costumers

This is getting cross posted like mad. If you've seen it like five times, I'm sorry.

So, some of you may know of my "19th century cure" design series on deviantART. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, look here: http://betapleatedsheet.deviantart.com/ The idea is a Victorian/Edwardian retro futurist interpretation of Repo! Somebody on the Repo! board foolishly gave me the idea that it should turn into a convention gathering and/or a themed shadowcast. I only have resources for the former.

Any interested people are welcome to use my designs or to come up with your own ideas. I do have ideas for nearly every costume worn by the main cast, so stay tuned if you're interested in any I haven't yet posted.

If anyone reading this is interested, but doesn't have experience with period costume, I'm glad to give ideas and tips. If anyone who's reading this is interested and would rather go the more stylized/steampunk route, that's also awesome! (hint: steampunk repo man would be incredible!)

Here's the basic breakdown of what I'm trying to pull together:

-Epic gathering of retro futurists Repo! costumes, for kicks, let's include Regency up through Edwardian
-Everything from period plausible to the very stylized is welcome
-It's happening at Dragon Con 2010
-We should find regular Repo! costumers and take cracktastic time travel photos!

Calling all Steampunk Super Heroes and Super Villains to Dragon*Con 2010!

I’m organizing a panel on the challenges of adaptation of modern supers into the Steampunk/Neo-Victorian universe. Do you draw a comic? Are you a fan who cosplays a super hero that you admire or have you created a character of your own (nudging at the Emperor of the Red Fork Empire) then this is where you can show off your stuff!

I’m looking for about four to six panelists and a room full of attendees. If you’re interested on being on the panel, drop me a note and we’ll start brain storming!

(please forgive the cross posting)

Direct Skyway connection from Marriott to Hyatt - construction has begun!

I work in an office in the Peachtree Center complex, which is upstairs from the Food Court in the Peachtree Center Mall that connects to the Marriott and Hyatt with the "hamster tunnels".  Today we got an email letting us know that construction began on February 4th on a Skyway to connect the Marriott and Hyatt directly.  It doesn't say where it will be, or which floors will be connected, or even when they expect it to open.  It's mostly just to let us know when the roads will be closed, and the last closure listed is for July 7th, at least so far.

So, if they finish in time, perhaps we'll have another new Skyway for D*C 2010!
