Henna
5 Weeks out!!!
We are all so excited :)
We're putting word out now to sign up for a henna party and/or appointment! We'll come to your room, meet you in a central spot, do it up in the art room...whatever! We'll be staying in a host hotel this year so we can go as late as needed. We'll have sign up sheets at our bazaar table and we'll post our cell phone numbers as the date gets closer.
To see some of our designs, go to our henna images page.

Do you do henna on faces?

We have some time on Thursday still - and maybe more once we get our plane tickets. Friday morning is pretty open still.
We will put henna practically anywhere - but it won't stain the face and doesn't work well at all on the neck. The further away from your torso the better - think elbows to hands and knees to feet for best results.

Things to Consider
Henna is applied as a greenish paste. It will dry a dark brown/black. The dried Henna will peel and flake off, leaving a stain behind!
Depending on your skin type and tone, the stain darkness will vary. The paler the skin tone, the deeper the stain.
For best results, try a design on these parts: hands, wrists, feet, ankles, legs
Designs will NOT be applied to your face! It will not stay!
Designs applied closer to the center of the body do not turn out as dark. If you would like a design on your UPPER ARM, BACK OF NECK, SHOULDER, SMALL OF BACK OR HIP, please note IT WILL NOT BE AS DARK.
The reason for the torso issue is that you're moving all the time, even arm swinging when you're walking will interfere with the staining process. Your torso, in addition to moving, sweats more and exfoliates at a more rapid rate, hence the stain doesn't turn out as well. Having said that, if artists add dyes to their henna, the issue probably isn't as big of a deal.
