iPhone/iPod touch apps

I recently saw a post that made me start thinking about this question since I've grown to use my iPod touch. What apps do you suggest/recommend/like/utilize or think would be useful for/during an event like Dragoncon?

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Edit: I'm aware of the previous post mentioning the con app. That's what spurned this post, as I mentioned. I mean OTHER apps, such as UrbanSpoon, flight apps, traffic apps, organizational apps, things that could be useful during the con

I haven't found much myself, fo conventions in general let alone D*C. Here is this one that I pulled that was supposed to have convention programming schedules but it only has one so far and does not update.

Somebody needs to start writing already!

For new places in general I think UrbanSpoon is a lifesaver, along with Twitterrific if you have a twitter account to keep in touch with (and for friends at cons). It's also useful if the convention has an updated twitter account, which I think Dragon Con does during the con.
But if you mean a con specific app, I have not found any besides the above mentioned one either. However, a Dragon Con app with schedules and up to date changes would be extremely helpful.

I wonder if they could utilize the Twitter feed for schedule changes. I don't use the blasted thing myself, but it would help "boost the signal", as it were.

I wind up going through the program (hopefully they'll pre-release an electronic version again) and plugging everything I want to check out into a "con" calendar in ical to sync to the thing so that I can ask my electronic brain where the heck it was I wanted to go next.

Yeah, it's the calendar software built into OS X.

I have the Marta maps and hotel floorplans stored as photos, which come in handy. I'm from out-of-country so I have the xe currency converter. There is an Atlanta travel web app that I will use for the first time this year: http://wheretraveler.com/mobile/us/air/CL0000016279.HTML

If the livecon app update falls though, I'll try entering key panel and party info into the calender.

Sufice it to say, I love my iPod touch.

That link isn't quite right. Atl is here: http://www.wheretraveler.com/mobile/us/ga/atl/

OHMYGOD, AN INTELLIGENT, ORIGINAL POST WITHIN 12 WEEKS OF CON. ILU.

I'll just put my semi-serious comment. A wide variety of distractions for when you are sitting in line. Also, updating to 3.0 firmware so you can audio record panels potentially.

I'd recommend MetrO for traveling by mass transit. I used it for years on my Treo and loved it. Now it's available for the iPhone and Touch and it's free.
