iPhone/iPod touch apps
I recently saw a post that made me start thinking about this question since I've grown to use my iPod touch. What apps do you suggest/recommend/like/utilize or think would be useful for/during an event like Dragoncon?
Posted via LiveJournal.app.
Edit: I'm aware of the previous post mentioning the con app. That's what spurned this post, as I mentioned. I mean OTHER apps, such as UrbanSpoon, flight apps, traffic apps, organizational apps, things that could be useful during the con

Somebody needs to start writing already!

But if you mean a con specific app, I have not found any besides the above mentioned one either. However, a Dragon Con app with schedules and up to date changes would be extremely helpful.

Twitter is also another great suggestion. IS Dragon_con going to update during the con? That would help amazingly.

If the livecon app update falls though, I'll try entering key panel and party info into the calender.
Sufice it to say, I love my iPod touch.

If there's a way to do posts by a certain person in a community, you'll see nothing BUT brilliance coming from me ;)
People just don't know how to read the community or read the wiki before posting, which would really cut down on 85% of the crap that gets posted here pre-con.

* Accuweather .. of course
* Google mobile app ... You can save docs, have your tasks, calendar, etc
* YP mobile .. in case you need a phone number in the area
* Wi-fi finder & Free Wi-fi finder ... although I think most people know where the wi-fi hot spots are
* Maps & Mapquest
* A Personal Assistant ...
* Flight sites & Airport Status .. to check flight times and make sure there are no delays or anything
* Evernote ... I haven't used it yet but it's supposed to be great for notes/productivity
Then I have a number of food-related apps like GoodFood, OpenTable, LocalPicks, FastFood, Have2Eat, and Urbanspoon. As well as Dunkin Run because I want Dunkin donuts while I'm there ;)
I have a couple of drink apps, if I decided to order something fruity and strong at the Hyatt bar
* UPackitit Free .. for my packing list
* My eSleep Lite and Sleepmaker to help drown out noise when I want to sleep
Then my social networking apps, and Flickr and Photobucket apps, plus games for when I'm in line
