Valet Parking at the Hyatt?

This is our first year staying in the Hyatt, and I was wondering how the valet parking works. Do we just pull up to the front of the hotel and they take our car, or do we have to drive into the motor lobby underneath and in back?

I think you just drive up to the front of the hotel, but make sure you get there very early because it fills up really fast! (it was full on Thursday by 8:00 pm last year).

It's full unless you slip the guy a $20, somehow space always opens up for that.

Bribery is 2nd nature here in Atlanta. It is the most effective way of getting anything done.

I usually drive up the front and valet. You have to go to the Motor Lobby to get the car out, though. It depends on how you're arriving since we have some weird one-way roads around these parts. The good part is the valet guys are awesome.

Park across the street for 1/4 of the price. Or pay me the difference and I'll park your car while you stand in the registration line.

across the street?

My girlfriend and I bring a small trailer, which is always a bone of contentions in the Hyatt Parking Garage. They always argue about it until we actually dismount it and put is up against the wall.
Where "across the street" do you mean? Cheaper parking is very attractive.

There are safe parking decks on three of the four sides of the three hotels.

I prefer the parking at 227 Courtland St. (run by Lanier (http://www.lanierparking.com/), with the Peachtree Center Athletic Club on top). But there are lots of choices on Courtland, Baker, and Harris streets. They're all cheaper than the hotels, and don't involve waiting in a line to get your car.

In previous years if you parked at 227 Courtland on Thursday and did not take out your car until Monday, you got the weekday rate for all of the days. Not sure if it will work again this year, but it was a great deal.

Do be careful with open air lots.. I had my car broken into by a homeless person the first night of my first con because I decided to cheap it and park in a $6/day open-air lot.
In retrospect, it would have been alot cheaper to pay $25/day for the valet at the Hyatt. (that window ended up costing over $300 to replace).. not to mention driving 300 miles back from DC w/o a window was.. unpleasant.
