Since my bf isn't coming this year I have space in my car for a rideshare from Charleston, SC. I can also pick you anywhere along I-26 (till Columbia) and I-20 within reason. All I ask in return is an acceptable split in gas charges from the time I pick you up till it's time to say good-bye.

With flights over $200 round trip to DragonCon this year and gas over $4.00 a gallon, I am thinking about organizing a Charter Bus to Dragon Con. I am sending out for quotes right now. My hope is to keep the round trip under $100. Since DC/Baltimore draws well for Dragon Con, I was wondering would there be interest in it. My plan was to leave early on Thursday September 1st and come back early afternoon on Monday the 5th. I have some quote requests out there for specific costs. Would there be enough interest in this from Baltimore/DC fans to make it a reality?

I was wondering if anyone who is driving to the con will be passing through the Southwest Pennsylvania area (ex. Uniontown, Pittsburgh, Connellsville, etc.)? If so let me know as I'd love to catch a ride with you. Of course I would chip in for expenses. I don't drive though so I couldn't help in that way.

I know this is really late but I figured it's worth a shot. I had hoped to figure out my travel arrangements this past weekend but had a huge emergency. I didn't even know people did this. I'll probably just have to bite the bullet & take a plane, train or bus but I thought I'd ask first. Thanks.

When: leaving Tuesday night around 7:00 or 8:00
Where: leaving Syracuse, NY, route is Scranton, Allentown, Harrisburg PA; Roanoke VA; Hickory, Gastonia NC; Spartanburg, Greenville SC. Will detour a bit to pick you up.

I'm a costumer, so I'll have a lot of stuff, so someone who packs light would be appreciated, but not required. If you need a place to sleep Wed. night it *might* be arrangeable.

I'm a professional driver, heading from Memphis to Atlanta.
My riders couldn't make it, so I'm looking for someone to split gas and expenses.

I'm leaving Memphis Friday morning very early and getting to Atlanta around 1 PM. I have one rider.

I drive a Prius, so gas will be about $50 for the trip.
I park at a Marta station, so $20 for parking.

If one rider comes along, $27 for gas and parking, plus 2 marta tickets ($4)
If two ride along, $21.50, with Marta tickets.

The only catches are early departure and VERY limited luggage space. I will be headed straight to the parking garage, so bring only what you can carry on the train.

We were going to give a friend of ours a ride with us to try to save some money on gas/parking this year, but it turns out that now he can't make it.

Since I went through all the trouble of figuring out how to bring a third person in our Honda Civic, it seems a shame to have that effort go to waste now, so I'm opening up the option of giving a ride to someone else.

We are leaving at exactly 3AM Thursday morning for Atlanta, and will be returning on Tuesday, leaving Atlanta around noon. There will be room to bring a carry-on sized suitcase and a laptop bag of some sort, but not much else (though there should be plenty of leg room). We'd prefer to pack the bags on Wednesday so that we don't have to mess with it in the dark when we leave. We'd like $60 towards our gas/parking.

I am dragonflora's aforementioned friend from Richmond VA who has worked up the money to go to con but cannot find a ride. I felt it prudent to put my own post up in the hopes of finding anyone who might be coming down 95 from farther north with a vacant seat and/or trunk-space large enough to fit a folded gentleman. So this is my first time going to DragonCon. I'm meeting friends there that have been going for years, but am all on my lonesome from Memphis to Atlanta. I do have room in my vehicle for 1 other person, possibly 2 if I can convince a family member to trade with me for the weekend, if there is anyone who needs a ride and would like to split the gas money.

I also have a question for a friend of mine who just recently found out he had the money to go. He's looking for a ride from Richmond, VA. If there is anyone with room in their car and willing to have another passenger, I know he'd be more than appreciative.

Bla bla bla, first time going to the con, looking for some advice and help on some things.

1) I'm going to be wandering around in my Daria cosplay at somepoint or another, and my mom pointed out that it would be rad to find a Beevis and Butthead, at least for a quick photoshoot or something. Anyone going to be up for that at some point?

2) A couple months ago, there was a post about getting a Middleman costume group together --I'm not really expecting any bites now, since there were hardly any then, but...yeah. Anyone? (I've got a booty chest girl outfit, can put together a middleman uniform, and hope to have a "French Cuisine Kills Bunnies" sign by the time the actual con starts)

3) I'm going straight from summer vacation ending at D*C to my next semester of college in Boston, and have to figure out how to get all my stuff up to my dorm. On an airplane. Basically, is there anyone driving to Boston from D*C (long shot, I'm sure) who wouldn't mind taking a duffle bag or two so I'm paying slightly less in exorbitant baggage fees? I'd be able to come get it around the eighth or ninth of September, probably. Yeah, I'm a moron who didn't think of shipping bags. You wanna make something of it?

Can't wait for the con!

Hellooo everybody! This is my 1st year going to Dragoncon (well any con for that matter) and I had a few questions.

Firstly, me and my friend are driving up on Friday evening from Tampa (yeah I know its late but we can't get out of work). I know by the time we get into Atlanta its going to be too late to do anything, but I was wondering how early we should line up to pick up our badges on Saturday (we both prepaid).

Secondly, I reallyyy have my heart set on meeting Morena Baccarin (there are obviously other guests I'd like to meet too but she is my favorite actress ever). I know she's been at the con previous years so does anyone know if she usually does autograph signings? And does she allow pictures? Feel free to share your experiences haha.

Thirdly, this is kind of a stretch but if anyone else is coming/wants to come from the Tampa area we do still have room in the car for 2-3 more people. If you'd like to tag along let me know and I'll give you more info. You'd just have to be cool with getting there kinda late and helping out with gas $. ^.^

Hey everybody!

We're looking for folks to share a cramped, uncomfortable ride to Dragoncon from Tucson or any place en route to Atlanta! Partake in long, awkward conversations! See the bland, featureless landscape of central Texas! Stop and sleep in oddly decorated motel rooms! Eat gut-twisting gas station food!

Applicants should have a passable sense of humor, reasonable personal hygiene habits, of adult age (over 21 preferable), and should preferably not be a dangerous psychopath who will kill us in our sleep.

We estimated that the travel costs for a round trip with gas and car will be about $200 each (not including lodging, admissions, and food stuffs). We should have room for small carry on and there should be space for you to bring a suit case or duffel bag in the trunk!

We plan on leaving Wednesday or Thursday prior to the weekend and attending the events on Saturday and Sunday and leaving sometime on Monday. We should be arriving back in Tucson on the following Wednesday or Thursday.

Also, we will be stopping in New Orleans on the way home to party and visit the Gulf before it becomes a completely unsightly smudge!

Please let us know if you're interested in this cheaper than airfare opportunity with no luggage fees! :)

I'll be driving from Charlotte, NC to Dragon*con if anyone wants to hitch a ride and pitch in with gas. I have 2 or 3 seats open (depending on how much gear we need to pack in my car). I'll be taking 85S there, so this also applies if you are along the way.

Leaving Charlotte to head there Thursday and returning Monday.

I will be more than happy to drop you off at your hotels and return you to the local Charlotte area after the Con.
I will not be driving during the Con though and I am not looking for a room or roommates.

hmm.... what else? um, I like rock and roll... I smoke in my car... I've never been in a wreck. ... you may hear me say a curse word... ok I think that covers everything.

Hello! I'm leading a 7 passenger mini-van that's being rented from the Philadelphia area of PA and we're driving down to D*C this year. We also have a room at the Hilton there, for those who want to come along.

We currently have 4 people in the room and 3 people in the car. We're doing a max of 7 in the car and 8 in the room - so 4 more people can join us.

I, myself, am leaving from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area and driving down to Philly, so if someone reading this needs to leave from there they can join me at the start of trip. We'll be leaving from Philadelphia and stopping in Baltimore to pick someone up, so either of those two places can be pick ups for people who want to do this.

Money will need to be paid in advance for car and room. You must be legally allowed to drive, and be willing to drive at least 3 hours. We're buying food and bringing an ice-chest, so you won't have to worry about food during the trip.

We'll be leaving NEPA the night of Tuesday, Aug 31st to Philly, nighting in Philly and leaving for the con on Sept 1st. We'll get there the night of Sept 1st (the first night of the room) and staying until Tuesday, Sept 7th. Driving back to Philly that day. Back to NEPA on Wednesday the 8th.

If you're looking for more information, prices, or anything similar, don't hesitate to leave a message here! We're hoping to be able to do this and get some very large costumes to the con which we can't bring via airplane!
