The point is that the people with the Kickstarter never so much as expressed any interest in joining the group in question. However, some of the members of the group in question still decided to take it upon themselves to harass, bully and attempt to ostracize the Kickerstart group for daring to go outside of their particular GB group's "standards".

In other words, these people are trying to be fandom police and see nothing wrong with their gross behavior.
