Unfortunately, in costuming, there are a mega-ton of elitists out there. You'll never please them, so don't try. The rule of thumb is to do your own thing and let the haters hate. Do what your mom told you to do, and ignore them. Unless they are physically harassing you, tell them to fuck the hell off.

Make your costuming how ever the hell you feel like it. I saw some of this discussion, and the girl only did that because it was a way to get her family and friends to support her project. More power to her if she actually got the dough she needed in order to start her GB stuff!

All fandom "groups" have their extremists. Where you have to go through a rigorous process in order to be accepted.
