[identity profile] missingvolume.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] dragoncon_lj_archive
As the con gets closer everyone will start posting tips on how to make the con cheaper. Today I got a link to a video for some hotel room cooking of bacon and eggs.  I have not done this and to be honest I always have the hotel breakfast so I can't swear to any of the tips in the video.

But I figured a few people on here would get a giggle out of it.

Hm... the egg cooking with the iron appears to work alright. My roomies and I used a crock pot last year and it went great! Saved a lot of money too.

You know, if someone brought a loaf of bread, some american cheese singles, and some foil, we could make grilled cheese sammiches with the iron this year! Grilled cheese sandwiches with our ramen and cup-o-soups. Mmmmmmm!

That's kind of brilliant...! We do tend to use our coffee maker creatively at the con, but not that creatively...

Crock pots are your friend!
Seriously, you can throw some soup mix in with water or veggie broth and pre prepped meat (If you're doing chicken, I'd suggest wings. Tasty, tasty wings...), leave it for about 4 hours, come back to your room after some hard panel hopping or other nefarious activities and you have dinner!
