To my deep despair, there's only one book discussion panel for Wheel of Time this year -- even though the final book was just published. Is anyone interested in joining me for book discussion? I can find us places and provide topics if anyone is interested in it -- and if people are really interested, we could discuss on this thread what topics we most want. I'd love to have one get-together each day, but hell, I'd settle for anything beyond the miserable one panel that DragonCon is giving us this year.

(They are also doing a couple other WoT-related things -- costuming and so on -- but no other WoT book discussions. It's because our beloved track doesn't exist. It's been folded into the Fantasy track, along with the Anne McCaffrey track. There's a bunch of McCaffrey panels, and a good selection of "other" panels, including George R.R. Martin. I guess they didn't feel like WoT needed more than one book discussion panel, given all the competition in that one track.)

Hello, I am heading up The Road Warrior costume group for the parade this year.  We are trying to do screen accurate costumes (or at least very close) and we need just one more person.  I'll have my Humungus Machine, and we need another prisoner to be tied to the front.  (You'll actually be strapped on with a fire/rescue harness - safety first!)  The costume will be provided to you, you just have to show up!  If you've seen us in past parades, you know that we like to work things up with the crown and have a lot of fun.  Here's a video:

So if you're interested, please let me know!
Thanks,
Max

Anybody need a ride?

We're leaving from the Washington, DC area either very late Wednesday night or the crack of dawn Thursday morning.

We will depart from Atlanta at the crack of dawn on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, we do not have space in our hotel room, but of course we're willing to drop you where you need to go. I'm driving a Nissan Rogue so there is plenty of trunk space, especially since we are not cosplaying. You will be the only one in the backseat so you can stretch out, if you like.

The planned route is I-95s to Richmond then I-85S to Atlanta.

Be willing to pay your fair share of the gas, help watch out for cops (I drive fast) and add to the general ambiance of a road trip.

We have never been to D*C before so you can impart your wisdom upon us and we will greatly appreciate it.

Non-smoker preferred.
