The Post Con Control Mode has now gone into effect.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, FOR SALE POSTS ARE BANNED AND WILL REMAIN SO DURING THE POST CON PERIOD. There's currently no timetable set for allowing general for sale posts again(D*C vendors who had a booth dont come under the moratorium), but it will be at least October. People need time for their wallets to recover from the con.

Certain D*C Senior and Track Directors have been granted posting preapproval. All know that this is a privilege and not a right and are subject to having posts yanked and losing the privilege same as anyone else.

Certain posts in the mod queue may be allowed thru as conditions warrant. Any posts in the mod queue that belong under the master posts will be automatically rejected.

Post Con Control Mode will remain in effect until traffic returns to normal offseason levels.

Apologies to all for not going into open mode during the con as planned. Between my con doings and struggles with Wifi, I didnt get to doing it. I had a very bad week(not just weekend) as far as Net access went.

Thank you again everyone for a great con and already looking forward to next year!!

These people may look all nice on the surface, and it may make one go ooooh fancy! But the hotel itself? Well I can paint racing stripes on my subaru but it's still a subaru, put it that way.

You'd think a "luxury" hotel would have a bigger tub then some super 8's I've stayed in. (nope) No microwave and no fridge either (I get the feeling those would have been filed under incidental fees, more on that in a minute)

But the biggest reason I can say avoid this hotel at all costs is just that, they totally cheated me and my fiancee on the costs.

#1 Despite saying on the DC website they will take the first night non refundable, they didn't, and that socked us for four nights over 3 right up front. When we showed them the DC webpage proving this? Their response boiled down to as my Fiancee put it "You'd think the logical thing would be to say oh our mistake how can we make this better. Not yes I see you're telling the truth now let me find some way to explain to anyone else who asks why we aren't going to fix it.

When we asked a couple non con goers here for the football how they were being treated? Same exact issue regarding booking, not just Dragon Con having the problem.

#2 Their reservation emails also lie. They'll tell you one total for the room, then there's a little fine print at the bottom that says fees may change upon arrival. Yeah in the form of that "incidental" fee they also tack on up front, extra $100 on the spot. Goodbye my entire con budget for anything outside food court, and even that we cut back on. Thank god we brought food of our own.

#3 Their management will just go into total CYA mode if you try to call them on this. When the Fiancee sent an angry email we got a call from an executive director. Regarding the extra night she tried to feed us a line about how D*C uses third party sites to book rooms hence the glitch. Except I booked right on the Ritz's site with the DC discount code. She also tried to make an excuse about how debit and credit cards charge differently. I used this same NC SECU debit with a visa logo at the Hyatt a couple years back, zero issues getting one night taken and payment after con. And the incidental fee was just "something Luxury hotels do." Day after we got a nice letter with an apology which hoped resolved our issues, along with a please enjoy this box of truffles.

Truffles wouldn't have fixed it, even if said truffles had been with the letter. We never found the box.

Out of every hotel I've ever stayed in this was the worst experience ever. Along with a staff/management that starts at incompetent at best and blatantly lying at worst. If my choices are book here or miss the con, missing wins hands down.

Just curious anyone else have issues with them too?
