R/T Ticket Seattle to Atlanta and a room at Hyatt for Dragoncon

No takers yet on my companion ticket on Alaska Airlines for R/T to Dragoncon. Your cost: $350 for the plane ticket.  ALSO will either provide room/share (sharing with just 1 other person) or let you take over the room reservation for a 2 bed room at the Hyatt for Thurs - Sun nights. (Room costs totally separate from the airline ticket price)  

Alaska Airline:  Leave Thursday, 8/30 and arrive Atlanta about 4pm,  Leave Atlanta, 9/3 at 5pm and arrive back in Seattle about 8:30 pm.  You do have to be on the same flight as me! 

Room only goes with the ticket or I'll release it through Dragonconrooms on Livejournal.  Trying to be fair.

DCon Charity Auction & "Chucks for Fiver"

Hiya folks! If you haven't seen yet, We're gathering donated items for an ALS Charity Auction on the Sunday of DragonCon this year. And to help bring some unique, wearable, one-of-a-kind items into the mix, We've set up a web site to help connect artists with people who can donate Converse sneakers ("Chucks") for them to paint.

The ALS Association of Georgia is the official Charity of Dragon*Con 2012, and since I've had the disease for about 5 years now, (and attended DCon for the past 9 years), that makes me sort of an ALS Ambassador to the Con. So My friends and I are trying to spread the word and have lots of fundraising activities at DCon. Because of my affinity for Converse sneakers, he started this:



Now the shoes aren't ACTUALLY for me (I have plenty!) but we are gathering them as unique items for the Charity Auction on Sunday of the Con. We've set up a direct link for all the information on requesting or donating shoes, and even a tutorial on how to do it:

Prydon Academy dinner

As Dragon*Con is approaching quickly, we want to remind everyone to please come sign up for our annual group dinner if you’re interested in attending. It’s a genuine blast every year, and it gives us all a chance to sit down and relax, uncostumed, and just hang out.

This year the event is going to take place on Friday night rather than the usual Saturday. We’ve found in past years that dining on Saturday night can involve a lot of scheduling conflicts, so this year we’ve moved it to allow even more Prydonians to join us! It will also be slightly later than usual, around 8:00 (the final time is still being determined) so as to not conflict with the Amy Pond and Ryan’s Army photoshoots.

At this point, though, it’s very important for us to get as accurate a headcount as possible. The number of diners will determine prices, what menu will be provided to us, and which private room the restaurant will reserve for us. If we have enough diners, we may have the entire top floor of the place to ourselves – how nifty would that be? That’s not to say that if you express interest now you’ll be locked in. There will still be time to drop out if circumstances dictate; just let us know! Right now we’re just looking for a maximum probable number.
