scott-st-james.livejournal.comto make special elevator arrangements with the Hyatt?
First, allow me to preface by saying that in all honesty that I'm not
doggin' the Dragon*Con staff. They didn't design the Hyatt or its
elevator system So for the record, I'm not trying to place blame or
just be a prick in this post.
As it has stood now for as long as I can remember, the elevators
of the Hyatt have been perhaps the most unbearable part of staying in
this main hotel. In fact, for the past few years, I've stayed in the
Marriott almost specifically because of this issue. However, this year
I find myself staying at the Hyatt again.
So I was trying to think about any possible solution that might could
be enacted to alleviate some of the headaches this problem presents for
nearly everyone who stays in the Hyatt.
What I came up with was the idea of dedicating each of the 4 elevators
to different floor blocks on the ground floor for upward trips.
That being the key, dividing things up on the lobby level for upward trips only.
The Hyatt Regency website says the hotel has 23 floors. Is it possible
to make an arrangement with the Hyatt that during the convention, each
elevator would be dedicated to a block of floors on upward travel.
For instance:
Elevator A: Floors 1-6 only.
Elevator B: Floors 7-12 only.
Elevator C: Floors 13-17 only.
Elevator D: Floors 18-23 only.
Seems this way, there'd be a lot less stopping at EVERY single floor on
the way up allowing for faster service.
I'm well aware that there really could be a major flaw with this idea
that I'm overlooking. What do you guys (particularly staff) think of
the idea? Is it more trouble than it's worth?
Thanks Again! :-D
