re: FROGGY Photo charges & CHANGES

.
Thougth this worth a post & wondering how others are feeling about it.

..those of us that have already paid THE ADVERTISED $60 for a phot op with Mr Leonard Nimoy, have this last week, suffered the disclosure that  'oh that price was wrong/a mistake  - it is supposed to be $80 - oh but if you have already paid  $60 you must still pay the extra $20 now - oh and if you want a refund instead you have to wait until after D*C (practically a month) for it'.... if I hadnt already made a costume for the photo I would be wanting my money back .... and IMMEDIATELY.

How is it DragonCon can allow a precedence like this to be set?    If a vendor/dealer/photographer can do it once, they can do it again and to every price on their site! ... what guarantee do we all have that there will be no further increases to current advertised prices of other photo ops, excused as 'mistakes' but the customer has to cop the loss for the vendor's mistake?

Slanted Fedora sounds like a really bad cover band. Which has nothing to do with anything but I suddenly imagined the band on Gilmore Girls named that and it fit.

I know me. If I'd looked at the name and what they did, I'd have fled. I wouldn't quite trust the company. I'm snubbish like that but it sounds like a flyby night operation.

LOL

Never been to one of their shows. I don't think they did NC at all. Vulkon did and tried to step on the toes of the local, smaller cons.

I never got the whole stepping on toes. It's not like geeks won't attend more than one reasonable con a year if it fits into the schedule.

And when cons pull this crap, geeks talk. Bad cons go adios.

And the internet is a powerful enemy.

So are the guests that get the law enforcement involved.

Yup.

And it got Froggy to refund the $20 for those who were "told to pay that extra amoun" via paypal.

It's not good to piss off your customer base. Because after this year, I won't get pics again. Heck, I had to weigh the prices of 30 each before deciding to pay. I can't imagine being told to shell an extra 20.

Nope. Haven't they heard that customers talk? Especially about the BAD experiences they had somewhere?

I don't get them due to the extra cost that ain't in my budget. Which is tighter this year.

Apparently they missed that vital 'customer's talk and bitch' aspect of business. Because if the customer ain't happy, the word will spread like wildfire. I know I've done it plenty of times with a bad service.

Well, this is the one and only time. I'll be penny pinching, but I don't buy a lot in the dealers room so that money is pretty much freed up.
