Ride for the blind, please? :D
Hello, all! I need your kind help. One of the things I noticed about DragonCon is the way fans make me feel so safe. Most of fandom is so helpful and caring that I love going to cons just because I get to meet more of them... erm... you. :D When I went to the con for the first time last year, I was amazed and deeply gratified by the fans and how well they received me and my guide dog Timo. He was stepped on only twice the entire weekend, in spite of the fact that there were over forty-thousand fans wandering between the four hotels.
I need transportation help for this year. I'm willing to pay up front for gas and a fair share for any food we buy while we are on the way. My guide dog is tall and rather large, but he's also playful, very sweet and loves people impartially. He does shed, and I'd also be willing to pay for any cleaning you may wish to do on the inside of your car to help rid it of his hair.
So, anyone who is coming from Daytona Beach, Orlando, or areas surrounding those cities who is interested in helping by merely giving us a ride to the airport where we will be picked up and taken to the con, please feel free to leave a comment on this post, or e-mail me at: leianora627 at gmail dot com.
