Hi everyone:
As I said before I am working on a series of vlogs on youtube.  Every year I like to do a series of episodes at Dragon Con.  I have been promoting my blogs on twitter and facebook.  I am also starting to promote them on this communities because it revolves around the above.   So here is a link to my latest information on Dragon Con.

As promised, here's the ASFC track's schedule, on our web page here.

NOTE: There is one panel that is not on that page:

B5: Gathering of the Babblers
A much requested Babylon 5 fan forum! Come listen as Bill McIntire, Shaun Rosado, and Maggie MacAlpine discuss funny hair, ancient aliens, psychics and more, wrapped up in a five mile long space station, all alone in the night; Sat 2:30pm; A703[M]

I was browsing the con site and noticed under the bio for one of the last tracks added, Mike Capps, the president of Epic Games, says he's "co-directing the new Videogames track." When I eagerly tried to find info on this on the site, I didn't see it listed under fan tracks, but I did notice the MMO track is no longer there. Have these tracks been consolidated? It makes sense to me because as someone who plays a lot of games but not MMOs, I felt the subject could use some expansion. I know we'll never be able to compete with PAX Prime for guests for the most part, but it'd be great to have more gaming panels! Does anyone have more info on this?

For those who expressed interest in participating in a fanwork track at Dragoncon, I've set up a DW community here, and a shared googledoc for panel ideas here. I'm especially hoping to hear from vidders, fanartists, and podficcers, since we don't have a lot of potential panels for those topics yet. If you'd like to contact me directly, you can email me at hollimichele at gmail dot com.

Also, while I have contacted the Dragoncon office via the contact form a couple of times, I've yet to hear back from anyone. Is there anyone on staff who'd be willing to help me launch this project or who knows the right person for me to contact directly?

We would like to create the panels that you want to see. If you have a subject suggestion, please visit the Costuming Track page at: http://community.livejournal.com/dccostuming/ and post it there. Thank you.

On Saturday night of Con, as the crowd of "invaders" at the Marriott began to swell I retreated back over to the Hyatt, down into the geeky safety of that hotel's labyrinthine bowels. Still feeling my Trader Vic's Mai Tai and swelled with cardboard courage (I was in my best cardboard battle armor) I trotted into the International Ballroom to find Jackson Publick and Adam Savage onstage with some other people I should have recognized (but didn't).

I think I must have thought the room was bigger because I went charging in, thinking I would have to trot waaaay down front to find out what was happening.

This was not the case.

Instead, what happened was that Adam Savage sat up and looked at me kind of funny.... so I trotted down front to see if I could find a place to sit down... somewhere in there he announced to the room that I looked like a "Stay Puft Marshmallow Trooper"... which is a compliment for any cardboard trooper.

I stood around in there for another 10 minutes trying desperately to figure out what the panel was about but it made ABSOLUTELY no sense. I attribute my confusion to the mai tai, but I think the panel may have been using some very unusual rules of which I was unaware.... can somebody explain it to me?

Was that panel perhaps videoed?

So this was brought up a few times and I'm mildly curious if this is 1. Being considered, and 2. How much interest there is for it?  What all goes into the decision of making a new Track in general for that matter.

I mean, we have Game of Thrones starting up in the Spring on HBO and you figure George R.R. Martin's gotta be done with Dance by next year, right?  Right...?  We already had a guest from the show this year (Jason Momoa) and you figure there is going to be a huge buzz for more guests after that.  Pern and Wheel of Time have their own Tracks, this is only fair. :)

To make putting my schedule easier I broke the Google Calender apart by track. *edit* I would like to thank the D*C staff that posted the schedules in a way that made it possible to do this.

I've done up the Main programming track into Google Calendar, just in case anyone with an Android phone wants to add it to their calendar. If anyone wants to do any of the other tracks, please post the links here.

Does anyone know where and when or even for what tracks Craig Parker will be doing panels?

He is not listed on the Tolkien track page, and I'm not entirely sure what categories his other work fits into.

If anyone knows where his panels will be, please let me know.

Thanks!

I know there is an outstanding request to add this information to an iPhone app, but in the meantime... has anyone ported the following schedules to Google Calendars:
- Apocalypse Rising
- Skeptics
- Independent Film

If you have ported other tracks, please feel free to list them for everyone else.  Thanks!

Indie game designers that are planning on attending Dragon*Con, it's free exposure and an open forum to discuss your work. I'm putting together the panel information now but I think the times are fairly set at this point: Friday at 10 AM and Saturday at 1 PM. Email me the information about the indie games you can speak on for the panel: dave [at] housedok.com along with your name as you would like to have it appear in the listing and a short, one or two sentences on the games you represent.
Thanks again for your interest. .
