I am still looking for people to interview for the show.

Hi everyone:
I will be at Dragon Con this year as a regular guest working on my blogs by shooting interviews of regular attendees and of main events.   I am an amateur and I just started doing my blog work last year at Dragon con and I had loads and loads of fun.

What I would like to do is to show you some links of the stuff that I am working on.  If you would like to meet up at the convention to do some blog work with me, please be sure to send me a PM and we will meet.

Please be sure to check these out and subscribe to my youtube channel

It's getting to be that time of year again - Dragon*Con time! As usual, Prydon Academy is gearing up with an assortment of Doctor Who related meetups and activities. So if you're interested in hanging out with other Who fans and costumers, come on over to the Prydon Academy forums! Plans include:

The Doctor Who Parade Group! If you're planning on marching in this group, if you can sign up through PA rather than directly with the parade, it will make things smoother.
Photoshoots and videos!
The Prydon Academy dinner! (And don't forget the Brittrack dinner, too!)

See you there!

Here is a list of all the academic panels at Dragon*Con that have been organized by the Comics and Popular Arts Conference group. This year's programming would not have been possible without my co-organizer, R. Scott Nokes, our Programming Chair, Damien Williams, and our Programming Committee: Dennis LoRusso, Stephanie Noell, Vickie Willis, and Robin Zebrowski. And of course, all of the fantastic track heads.

Ahoy all!

In past years, I've appeared at DragonCon in my role as senior editor of Weird Tales, the world's oldest fantasy/horror/sci-fi magazine. This year, I'm the editor and coauthor of a new book that I'm showcasing at the con: GEEK WISDOM: The Sacred Teachings of Nerd Culture.

It's a sci-fi/fantasy-themed inspirational book, featuring 200 one-page philosophical musings based on the most beloved quotations from geeky films, books, tv shows, comics, etc. ("You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." "So say we all." "Snozzberries? Who ever heard of a snozzberry?" "I have been, and always shall be, your friend." "Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.") There are quotations and references from all our favorite things: Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, Marvel and DC Comics, Star Wars, Star Trek, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dune, The Powerpuff Girls, ThinkGeek t-shirts...

I'm incredibly proud to have been able to compile this testament to 21st-century nerdity. Several brilliant coauthors helped me create it, including Hugo- and Nebula-nominated novelist N.K. Jemisin ("The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms,") steampunk novelist and blogger Genevieve Valentine ("Mechanique"), movie critic and political commentator Zaki Hasan (The Huffington Post), and indie comics writer and journalist Eric San Juan ("A Year of Hitchcock").

I'll be doing a reading from GEEK WISDOM (with door prizes!) on Sunday at 1pm, in the Hyatt's Edgewood room. Would love to see you all there!

Not sure who I would need to talk to regarding inviting someone to Dragon Con. I've tried several...no scratch that....many times to get Brittrack to email me back regarding inviting a couple of writers from Primeval to the Con. I'm in contact with both of the said writers and they have both said they would love to come. I have their contact information and would love to see *some* presence from a show other than Doctor Who with regards to British programming. Don't get me wrong, I love Doctor Who but British SciFi is not just Doctor Who. Torchwood gets mentioned every now and then but on the whole British scifi is sorely lacking at the con in my opinion. Sure some of the media guests can be classified in the "British" Category, like Mark Sheppard but as far as panels go it seems like it's just Doctor Who all of the time.

If anyone has any ideas I would much appreciate it. With Primeval starting Series 5 in the US around the same time I would think this a golden opportunity.

So the current rumor is that the Doctor Who season 6.5 premiere will be on 9/3.

What would it take to have someone maybe on Brit Track get a big ballroom and a feed to BBC:America so we can have the biggest Doctor Who viewing party since NYC?

Would other folks be interested in something like this? I think it'd be pretty awesome to watch the premiere with a couple hundred of my closest Whovians.

Hi Everybody!

It's Christine from the Brittrack staff. I wanted say a big thank you from all of us for making 2010 a great year on staff. We had an awesome turn out on so many of our panels and are definitely looking forward to 2011.

I wanted to make a master post to ask for any feedback you have for this years panels, guests, etc from 2010. Tell us what you liked or didn't like and what you'd love to see.

The Cosplay.com thread has confirmed that due to crowding concerns, the Saturday 2:00 TF2 meet-up has been moved from the Sailboat Bar to the 10th floor Marriott.

Mighty Boosh meet-up is Friday, Sept 3rd, 5pm on the Marriott Ballroom Level photography area. We will (hopefully) be traveling from this location at 6pm, to GSU- who is hosting a Mighty Boosh documentary "Journey of the Childmen" at 7pm.  Here is a link to the Brittrack LJ post with more info:

Jon and Leigh are back to prove that they even have more 40 Days of DragonCon podcasting still up their sleeves.

Leigh starts us off by bringing us up to date on the latest guest announcements and other goodies. Then we are joined by Caro of the BritTrack. Caro, a D*C staffer of 11 years, shares with us the ins and outs of BritTrack 2010. She explains her stance on Monty Python, the intellectual differences between Dr. Who and Star Trek fans, and just who is doing all that butt gazing.

Plus, Leigh and Caro answer a listener question concerning guest announcement timing.

You can find out more about the BritTrack at BritTrack.org.
