I did a new blog on Dragon Con last night stating that as of today, we are three weeks out from the convention.  I also gave an update what I have been doing.  I also created a convention playlist all about my blogs.

Please be sure to check these out

1.My latest Vlog

2. My Convention playlist.  I have some stuff from last year's show

I am still looking for people to interview for the show.

What would you like to see me cover this year without bother the major panelists?

Robert (RJ) Haddy from SyFy's Face Off, Season 2 will be joining the Costuming Track this year to discuss makeup, costuming, puppetry, and what it was like to compete on Face Off.

Here's the link to the general con and D*C tips that I update and re-post every year:

(The second list, of suggestions made, will be updated and posted asap.)

As always, please feel free to reply with more helpful tips. :)

It's my sad duty to report that legendary fantasy cover artist Darrell K. Sweet passed away this morning. He leaves behind a rich legacy of art gracing more book covers than I can count, a Hugo nomination and numerous other award nominations. Darrell was a guest of the convention back in 2005 and I was fortunate to spend time with him in the WOT track. Unfortunately, he died with his final book cover incomplete. From what I've been told, the cover for A MEMORY OF LIGHT, the final WHEEL OF TIME novel was still in it's early stages when he passed. He was 77.

Hello everyone! I just have a quick question, and hope someone can help out :D I'm trying to figure out the name of a couple of artists who were in the art show. One of them was a sweet lady who makes incredible eyeball jewelry- like jewelry featuring eyeballs, not jewelry FOR your eyeballs :P If you were to walk in the doors of the art show, to get to her space you would turn left and go all the way to the left hand wall. She was the second artist up against said wall. She was also doing hair extensions.

The other artist was her neighbor. If you stood facing her space, he would be to the left. He is a very unusual painter who was using an Ipad to display a slideshow of some of his paintings. He was also wearing a leather harness with a pair of black feather wings (made by me) for most of the convention.

I spoke to them about trading while at the show, but in all the chaos of packing up my booth I seem to have lost their business cards!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch! <3

Hey guys. I know some people don't think to do it but you all should google the different dealers that were at Dragon*Con. Just find the dealers list still on the Dragon*Con website and google the names. Even if they didn't have business cards at the con with their websites quite a few DO have them. Support these guys and be sure to let them know how you came across them! Also, some of the sites that were posted on the dragon*con dealers page seem to not exist anymore such as http://www.grannywitchsfaeriecottage.com/

This has been a friendly reminder from your friendly neighborhood engineering officer.

...thank you to the Powers That Be for having me back! (One of these days, please introduce yourselves so I know who you are!!)

I'm a New Orleans painter/writer/storyboard artist, and I'll have originals, prints, books, and body paint with me in the Art Room. You can see my work over here, and I've put the original oils I'll have at the show behind the cut.

Thank you for looking, and I'll see you in all your glittering, fabulous, mad glory in a few days! )

Hey everyone,

Well we are just over a month away for another great time at Dragoncon. Frankly I am looking forward to the convention. Although the current guest listing as of 7-26 is very good overall. There are some fine names to the film and televison catagory, I just feel there is something missing. Like a guest that would make you jump out of your seat and say wow they really got that person to come to Dragoncon. For the past month guest list announcements for film & television has fell to mediocrity. I counted only 9 names announce for film and Television since 6-27 and we lost one to cancellation. So we net 8 new names and from my point of view they are meh guest. No one that stands out making me say wow. I really hope that who ever is responsible for getting talent to attend Dragoncon will pull out some aces in the next 30 days with names that will surprise me. I want to be wowed.

So here is my final top ten of who I would like to see come to Dragoncon. In no particular order.

1. Richard Dean Anderson: He has attended a convention overseas recently, so why not join Amanda Tapping.

2. Jared Padelecki & or:

3. Jensen Ackles from Supernatural, they already gotten some great talent from the show. So lets top it off with these two.

4. Allison Scagliotti from Warehouse 13. She is one of my favorite characters from the show who I haven't met yet.

5. Eliza Dushka She has been attending conventions this year, so why not come to Dragoncon

6. Jeri Ryan nuff said

7. Jolene Blalock need to complete my Enterprise main cast autographs.

8. Gina Torres of Firefly, same reason as above

9. Grace Park same as above but with the success of Hawaii 5.0 it is very very very long shot of that happening.

10. Sanctuary anyone from the main who isn't have been announce yet. Ryan, Robbin, Agam or even Emilie

Well, that is my list on who will get me to say wow they are coming to Dragoncon. So what are your thoughts on the current guest list and who would you like to see come. For you it can be someone from Authors, Music, or Comic category. So lets hear your thoughts.

I've been attending Dragon*Con for a few years now, and I've enjoyed checking out the panels and the art show. But one thing I've been wondering is are there any events or opportunities for artists to get together and draw? I know there are a number of contests and competitions over the course of the con, but I was hoping for something a little more laid back.

Are there artists out there that would be interested in creating a logo-ish design for the costuming track that involves a dragon and sewing? I would like to talk to them.

Pandorica-inspired artworkThis is an art print from one of my fine art drawings inspired by the dimensional design on the outside of the Pandorica (from the Dr. Who series).

For the next 24 hours, you can download a copy, free: http://eileenmorey.com/fineart/pandorica-4-one-day-download/

It will print on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper at 150 pixels/inch.  The actual artwork does not include the grey border shown here; that's just to define the image in my posts.

I'm expecting to be at Dragon*Con 2011, and you can look for me at the annual ATC (artist trading cards) workshop/panels, and at the zine panel (if we have that again this year).

However, my Guest badge won't say "Aisling" on it, or even "Eileen"... (It's a long story that I usually explain in my art-related panels.)

I bought a print at the DragonCon art show of a guinea pig with dragon wings, and I just gave it to my mom for Christmas. Everyone in my family thinks it's so cute that I want to order at least 1 more copy of the print, but I can't figure out who the artist was. I still have my receipt, and I know the artist was a Michael B., but the rest of his last name is illegible. Can anyone help me figure out who the artist was? Thanks!

My sister is very ill and has been trying to get disability but that has been hard so she created an etsy page. She has jewelry in steampunk, victorian, medieval, sca, and jayne hats, etc.

Antiquarian Boutique

She can do custom work through alchemy. )

Please take a look at the work she's done, thanks in advance.
If anyone wants something by Christmas, she can have it there on time if ordered before Monday.

I'm looking for an artist that was in the Art Show room...they had these cute prints of hamsters dressed as different Doctor Who incarnations...in fact I purchased one of the Fourth Doctor but in the rush to check out and make a panel it was left behind and the Marriot has failed to find it (go figure)...I really would like to buy another one but for the life of me can not recall the artist's name...any help would be awesome.

At this year's Artist Trading Card workshops, attendees expressed interest in having a forum where we could talk and swap cards all year long. I have set up a forum here:

You don't have to have attended the workshops to sign up. Just be a geek who's interested in ATCs. :)

I’ll be back as a guest (fifth year!) to show my paintings in the Art Show (table 1193), paint whichever bits you’re bold enough to bare (I live in New Orleans, you will NOT surprise me), and I’ll have copies of my book (an illustrated autobiography of making a path in the world with wits & a paintbrush) with me.

In that vein, I’ll be doing a panel Monday afternoon called Turning the Pictures in your Head into a Roof Over it. If you want to turn your passion into a career, maybe I can help get you on that path. Sacred knowledge should be shared!

See everyone in our spangled, furry, flashing, kinky, costumed, velvet, plastic, glorious geekdom soon!

The Comic and Pop Arts Alley will be held in Grand Hall East of the Hyatt. There will be many amazing artists and designers exhibiting this year: http://www.atlantacomicsexpo.com/ And for the second year straight, Rivet will also have a booth.

Rivet is a designer vinyl toy store and gallery located in Columbus, Ohio. Take a look at the web site and see what Rivet is all about: http://www.rivetgallery.com

Amanda L. Spayd will have an exclusive Rivet release at Dragon*Con and be at the booth as well.

I hope that you will stop by and visit the booth and the rest of the Comics and Pop Arts Alley during the weekend. If you see any items and have a special request for something to be brought to Atlanta, please feel free to send me an email.

Thanks and see some of you soon!
